Monday, 10/29:
Daily Objective:

  • demonstrate understanding of "The Raven" and apply knowledge of figurative language
  • pre-assess current knowledge of Unit 3 Part 1 words
  • conduct background research on diseases/situations linked to top 10 theories accounting for Edgar Allan Poe's cause of death.
Procedures:
  • Copy HW into agenda
  • What is/are today's objective(s)?
  • "The Raven" quiz.
  • U3P1 pre-test (grade answers together)
  • Mrs. Kuboff''s Mystery Madness Contest Trivia Questions (contest for mystery madness, OCT 2012.pdf)
  • Check-in with expectations about the Poe Mystery Death Project
  • Go to computer lab to work on projects with groups:
    • Divide tasks among group members for each person to research 1-3 (of the 10 total) Diseases provided
    • Complete the "Research Organizer" for each disease
    • Find, print & read all 7 clues currently uploaded to Poe Mystery Death Page.
HW:
  • "Family First Night" --No HW due tomorrow; no tests assigned for tomorrow. Go Home & enjoy family time! :)
  • Word Wisdom pages 50-53 due Wednesday;
  • WW pages 54-55 due Thursday.
  • Prepare for U3P1 Posttest on Friday
  • Obtain a copy of The Miracle Boys by Jacqueline Woodson by November 4th.
